FYCA organized the 6th Youth Clubs Assembly


The largest youth organization in Armenia, Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia (FYCA), organized the 6th Youth Clubs Assembly on 12-14 May, 2017. The aim of the Assembly was to unite regional youth on youth-social work, increase their capacities for civic engagement, and enrich their skills and knowledge. On the first day of the Assembly, the participants from all of the Armenian Marzes (regions), including Artsakh and Javakhk, discussed rural youth issues, suggested solutions for that problems, got acquainted with local and international voluntary experience including EVS.

The second day of the Assembly was dedicated to the development perspectives of Youth-Social entrepreneurship in our country. The youngsters learned about the history and the essence of social entrepreneurship, its development legislative preconditions of this sphere in Armenia, they revealed the world’s success stories of social entrepreneurship, as well as developed entrepreneurial ideas in order to promote the development of their communities. Dr. Atom Mkhitaryan, the President of Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia, mentioned that the organization declared 2017 as the Year of Youth Entrepreneurship Development, initiated the «YES» Competition-Initiative, which gives opportunity those young people who have original ideas, to represent their projects in international and local institutions for getting support. "Within the frame of “YES” project the top ten entrepreneurial projects have been selected and will be presented to the donor institutions. The young people, who came from different regions of Armenia will develop business ideas during the Assembly, to realize together”, said Atom Mkhitarian.

On the last day of the Assembly, the participants visited the Youth Capital-2017, Charentsavan, had a meeting with the members of the local youth organizations, and got information about their implemented and ongoing projects. The Assembly ended with a unique open-air flash mob in the central square of Charentsavan, dedicated to the Youth and Students Day (the 16th of May).
