FYCA’s representative participated in ECYC’s General Assembly



At the end of October, European Confederation of Youth Clubs (ECYC) General Assembly took place in Brussels. Diana Yeghiazaryan, the Secretary on international partnership of FYCA has participated in this important event. During the GA, Diana represented the activities, challenges and achievements of FYCA, the biggest youth organization in Armenia.

ECYC presented its report on the work done by Bureau, Secretariat members and work plan for February to October duration. There were highlighted the online Value Youth Work campaign devoted to the importance of youth work, study seminar on prevention of violent extremism among youth, the formation of working group fighting against extremism and radicalization.


It is worth mentioning that FYCA representative Diana Yeghiazaryan participated in meetings and discussions with the decision makers from European Institutions, which were about youth work, its recognition and importance in the preventive practice among youth from violence, extremism and radicalism. The recommendations suggested during the meetings with the officials from European Commision, Council of Europe, European Youth Forum and EU-CoE Youth Partnership open new horizons of youth work promotion for ECYC and FYCA partnership.

During the General Assmebly FYCA had a right of voting and participated in the selection of new member organization of ECYC. Getting the majority of votes, here and after Youth Academy Finland - Nuorten Akatemia, a non-profit organization that builds bridges between young people and society in Finland, joined the ECYC family.


ECYC member organizations also presented their projects, priorities and ideas planned for the upcoming year, discussed possible cooperation within member organizations on European and local levels: The GA gave the networking opportunity to participants and made their relations stronger.
